| Travel | Amsterdam – City Break

Hello Loves happy Sunday,

Earlier in the week I arrived back in Abz from a fab long weekend in Amsterdam. My best pal and I took a girls weekend trip to see Maroon 5 and had the most chilled weekend away. I loved every minute of it. And can I just say that we absolutely aced the transport system there. I am super proud of us both.

We arrived later in the day on the Saturday, grabbed a McD’s and checked into the quirkiest little hotel (which was totally budget friendly) called Citiez Hotel Amsterdam. The theme is so cool. Basically all the rooms are a different city. We had Boston, which meant the walls in our room had the city landscape and the back door of the room gives 3 interesting facts. Super cute.

Saturday night was a chilled, jump on the tram into Centraal Station where we took an hours wander around the city, the canals and then stopped in an Irish bar for a couple drinks. Obv where else are two Scottish girls going to head to in a foreign city… On the way home we stopped for Pizza were tipsy us were totally ripped off getting 3 pieces each for 30EURO in total. I mean come on pal, that’s crazy prices.

Day two was more exploring, with a late brunch then time to hit all the Sex Museums and have a giggle. Also trying not to get run down by cyclists. When Katie Melua sings about 9 million bicycles in Bejing I imagine Amsterdam has about 9 million more…

We also booked the cutest Pizza booze cruise for 9pm that night and it was so much fun. Pizza with unlimited wine while you take in all the beautiful culture, architecture and history the City has to show for itself. Even though I drank my quota in wine I took in so much fab info. Also who knew a canal boathouse was so crazy expensive.?! OOOh I also had my first Heineken on the tour and I’m now a convert.

Monday and the last full day of our trip we hit up a cute burger and hot dog cafe. Sooo much food. And then made a mid afternoon stop for a cocktail. A little more touring about, last minute tourist piks and then stocking up on 5Euro bottles of prosseco to take to our hotel for pre drinks before our Maroon 5 concert. Which by the way was so so fab. And we had unreal seats. I have never been so excited.
