| Lifestyle | Drive In Movies ~ Harry Potter

Okay so this is a super exciting post! If you are looking for something fun/ different to do I suggest you keep reading to hear about my trip to the Glencoe Mountains for a Drive In Movie…

Harry Potter And The Philosophers Stone

So a couple of weekends ago my friend and I road-tripped up to the mountains to experience our first (but now deffo not last) drive-in movie! As she lives in Edinburgh and I stay in Glasgow it made sense for her to drive through on Friday night and stay with me so we could set off bright and early on our journey.

An 8:30am departure time was not a struggle at all when you’re feeling like a small kid on Christmas day. We arrived at the drive-in for 10am which was an hour before the film was scheduled to begin which meant, perfect spot in the middle of the screen and not too far back, plenty time to get coffee munchies and experience the whooole atmosphere before settling into our car seats (pillows and all) to enjoy the screening.

On arrival we were given a cute welcome pack. This included lots of haribos and the details needed to tune your car radio into the film sound. Once we were all parked our first stop had to be the fire pits for toasted marshmallows! Who says we can’t adult??! Coffee and giant marshmallows for breakfast at 10am, why not?!

Woodfire pizzas were also on offer but as we were only staying for the one movie we decided to skip these and go for a late lunch on our return to Glasgow.

  1. Drive in’s are the absolute best! I used to have one 15 minutes away from me and we would go all the time. It was $20 for two new movies back to back! They always had one geared towards younger audiences and then more adult movies. They also had a super huge snack bar filled with all the goodies. Usually, we just brought all our own snacks and pizza! Probably one of my all time favorite things to do on the weekends!

  2. I’ve never been to a drive-in theater before, but in the US there aren’t too many left. 😭 Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s like I’m living vicariously through you, haha. 🙂

  3. Drive in movies are my favorite! I live in a small town in the USA and we have a drive-in theatre that still has the original pull-up speakers that you hang onto your car. It’s really so much fun! I’m glad to see people all around the world still enjoy a good drive-in. 🙂
